My name is Sandra Comas and I am the artistic creator of Taller MaPa.
I founded the business six years after the birth of my first child: six years of rediscovery, growth, nurturing and understanding of the principles of Waldorf education.
Mapa is a word my firstborn used when he was learning to talk, in a sudden moment of confusion, not knowing whether to call for his ‘Mamma’ or his ‘Papa’.
It has always amused me and my partner to think that motherhood/fatherhood could be contained in a single word.
In my native language (Catalan), MaPa is the word for a map. We like the idea that we are giving our children a map without boundaries to explore and discover the world, safe in the knowledge that there will always be somebody there waiting for them back home.
